Several Orland Park students in Dr. Cathi Stark’s BPS 380 class toured the Orland Park Police Department led by Detective Rich Whalen. The police department was an early adopter for sustainability when it was built just over 10 years ago. The building is LEED gold certified and students had a chance to see the concepts of People, Place, Process and Technology come together. They explored the jails and booking room and saw the electronic technology for fingerprinting, dispatching and computing in the police vehicles. This was a great opportunity to connect theory and practice!
