Robert Morris University Illinois (RMU) and The Boston Architectural College (BAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a collaborative educational partnership. The MoU serves to establish joint efforts to bridge the two Institutions through expanded learning opportunities for students. The purpose of the MoU is to create a new pathway for BAC and RMU students to increase their academic pursuits.
Glen LeRoy, president of The Boston Architectural College and Mablene Krueger, president of Robert Morris University Illinois, signed the MoU. Attending from RMU were: Paul Gaszak, associate provost; Andy Berger, vice president of admissions and recruitment; Arlene Regnerus, senior vice president and CFO as well as Ann Bresingham, vice president of human resources, and Katie Suhajda, vice president for academic administration. In attendance from the BAC were Kenneth Lemanski, vice president of institutional advancement; James Ryan, vice president of enrollment management; Mark Virello, chief financial officer.
Under the MoU, the BAC and RMU will undertake efforts to strengthen academic pursuits through the promotion of their common missions―providing excellence in design education that is accessible to diverse communities. In addition, both institutions have a strong focus on facilitating and offering students the opportunity for professional advancement through experiential learning.
The MoU ceremony began with a warm welcome as President Krueger received the BAC delegation to RMU and spoke of this new partnership and its benefits to students, faculty, staff, and the betterment of the Colleges’ communities.
After the welcome address, President LeRoy expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to work in partnership with RMU, “The BAC looks forward to building on our collaborative efforts with Robert Morris University Illinois, while celebrating our combined goal of connecting theory and practice to maximize career potential for our students,” said LeRoy.
The BAC and RMU are committed to finding additional ways to grow the partnership―such as potential co-teaching opportunities within the Colleges. President Krueger stated, “RMU is excited for this opportunity as our two institutions―each with deep roots in our respective communities―work together toward expanding professional, work-based education.”
