Robert Morris University Illinois is a strategic partner with the National Society for Experiential Education. A key component of NSEE’s mission is to enhance the professional development of its members. Another component of the mission is to be the national leader in advancing experiential education as a field and a profession. To accomplish both aspects of this mission, NSEE created the Experiential Education Academy, often referred to as the EEA or the Academy.

Since its inception, several hundred faculty and staff from dozens of higher education institutions have been completed the EEA certification.

Goals of the EEA:

  • To provide to NSEE members with a foundation in theory and practice of experiential education
  • To facilitate member access to the expertise and knowledge of other members
  • To support members as they assess their institutional experiential programs to ensure that they meet the Principles of Effective Practice
  • To create opportunities for members to develop the knowledge, skills, and competence that will strengthen experiential education within their institutions

Built into the conference registration cost, attendees will be exploring the city of Chicago on experiential
excursions that incorporate learning and fun. (See “Experiential Excursions” sets 1-3 on the agenda.) The
list of exciting options will be posted once details are finalized.

Additionally, attendees will have the option to opt-in to even bigger “Chicago Experiences” during the
final day of the conference (additional registration fee, prices vary) that will take advantage of the many
amazing experiences available around Chicago. The list of Chicago Experiences will be posted once
details are finalized.

Finally, attendees will be invited for a casual night out at local restaurants during the first three nights of
the conference (not included in the registration fee) to socialize and enjoy the incredible dining scene in
Chicago.
