For those looking for a health degree or wellness degree, Robert Morris University Illinois’ Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) with a concentration in Health and Wellness Degree is designed specifically for students seeking a career in the health-related industry. The junior/senior health and wellness classes are designed as a “cap” and will provide qualified students a seamless transition with little or no loss of credit. The BPS Health and Wellness programs at RMU gives students a firm foundation in basic and health sciences.
The Health and Wellness classes offer a diversified curriculum that is flexible, and students are able to select from various health, nutrition, sport and fitness specialization areas. As a result, students will be equipped to develop, implement and manage wellness, health, fitness and sports programs and initiatives in a variety of sectors.The multidisciplinary approach of the health and wellness classes combine the strengths of traditional exercise science and health science curricula and enhances the content with business management classes and lab experiences. Advanced internships round out the education and provide valuable real-world experience.
Advanced Health and Wellness Classes With Knowledgable Teachers
Through Robert Morris University’s Health and Wellness programs, students will complete the professional studies core which focuses on the foundations of professional practice including financial planning, marketing, project management and facilities management. Additionally, the concentration and thematic sequence of elective courses will help develop advanced professional skills and abilities to further those acquired in their first two years.
The health and wellness classes will provide students the opportunity to further develop proficiency relevant to previous associate degree level coursework for that area of emphasis. Through experience-based learning, knowledgable teachers will provide an advanced education both inside and outside the classroom with real-world experiences.
A Program Designed for Students Seeking a Health Degree or Wellness Degree
The BPS Health and Wellness programs provide specialized coursework and experience to pursue unlimited opportunities in recreation, wellness, health, management, fitness and sports careers. Falling under the umbrella of health education, the outlook for health and wellness is excellent, with jobs expected to grow at a faster than average rate of 16 percent through 2026, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). This is twice the average for all occupations, which is currently 7 percent.
Additionally, students can elect to supplement their health and wellness classes with an RMU Master of Science in Human Performance Degree. This Master of Science Degree (MS) creates future leaders in the industry who choose to obtain executive positions in their career.
