New ERA Scholarship

New ERA Scholarship

The New ERA Scholars program is RMU’s high-impact initiative in education philanthropy. The awards are designed to transform the lives of motivated, under-resourced African American students who are Chicago Public School graduates.

Led by a $1.2 million donation from The Alter Group, the program will be jointly funded through need-based scholarships by private philanthropists. New ERA Scholars will benefit from RMU’s acclaimed methodology, which prepares and empowers students for productive, successful careers.

Our goal is to raise an additional $4.8 million to grow and sustain this program through 2021. Your annual gift can change a life…and a community.

The awards will launch in 2018 with 40 New Era Scholars. Each student will receive $5,000 annually to cover costs that cannot be met by federal grants or student loans for the completion of their bachelor’s education. African American graduates of CPS should apply to Robert Morris University before the deadline of February 1.  Scholarship recipients will be announced on March 1 of the year in which the students will enroll. Requirements apply.
